Lauderdale-by-the-Sea candidates support commission agenda

The election: On Jan. 31, town voters will choose a new Seat 3 commissioner. Commissioner Birute Ann Clottey is not seeking re-election.
The candidates: Mark Brown and Edmund Malkoon
The background: Warring factions were prevalent in town elections as recently as two years ago, but the feud has essentially disappeared in this year’s Lauderdale-by-the-Sea elections. Vice Mayor Stuart Dodd has been re-elected without opposition and the two candidates for Clottey’s seat share views similar to those of the commission majority.
Town affairs have quieted down considerably since a new commission majority took over in 2010.

Q: What is the importance of the Realtor and seller relationship when deciding to put a house on the market?
A: The relationship between a seller and Realtor is one of the most critical factors affecting the successful sale of a home. In my opinion, it’s second only to the marketing effort of the Realtor. The most important part of this relationship is honest communication between the seller and real estate agent.
An agent must tell a potential seller the truth about the local market and the likely sale price of their home, while a seller must be willing to accept this information and the recent closed sales numbers that back up that agent’s opinion.

Real Estate – Worst Real Estate Markets In US

Real estate - The worst annual real estate markets have been announced by Housing Predictor for 2012, with more than 230 US city forecasts.
The worst real estate markets forecast for 2012 have been issued by Housing Predictor, which selects the 25 best and 25 worst markets annually. Cities are chosen that have the highest probability of reaching their forecasts.
Despite the troubled economy, and the struggling real estate market more than 15 states are projected to experience housing inflation in 2012, indicating that after more than five years of hard times in many areas of the country stabilizing factors are projected to impact much of the U.S.

Homeowner should contact HUD’s Fair Housing office

Q: Believe it or not, you were my first property manager in 1988 at my community. I still live here, and have gone through two dozen or so management companies. I wanted to ask you a question about my association and a serious problem we have with the president.
He has created a nightmare for a disabled 80-year-old woman, in a very discriminatory way.
Our community has three phases. Each one has its own pool and Jacuzzi. After 23 years, out of the clear, blue sky, he removed the closest gate access to her pool.
Originally, he put his own personal padlock on it, locking her out and forcing her to walk an extra 100 feet to the next accessible gate. To make things worse, he later removed the entire gate.
